I am very excited and honored that my practice and the 'Ariadne (of the Sea)' Wall Hanging are featured in the Interiors Trend Report 19/20 by WGSN x eporta.

You can find me in History Lesson: Handmade Tales | Project 25
[pages: 102-103, 114 & 178]

Whether we like to believe it or not we are all impacted by what is 'trending'. Trends are not temporary. Contrary to popular opinion, they continue to evolve through time, flowing into new iterations of the same movement. At the moment in which society is growing increasingly environmentally and ethically conscious, it is essential that we look at how aesthetic trends build up into long-term trends.

Handmade tales

"Combining traditional and contemporary forms of weaving within her London studio, Maria believes in working with materials in their rawest forms, removing the superfluous to create something beautiful and timeless."

Harking back to simpler times and a growing hypersensitivity to the world around us, clients and designers are gravitating towards the handmade. Years of traditional craftsmanship are being celebrated and old practices reignited by a new generation.

What's more, there's been a significant upturn in the number of suppliers releasing artisanal collections. This correlates with the growing movement in design for perfectly imperfect spaces and objects.
