Weaving & Upcycling

‘Weaving At Home’ is a new series of step-by-step video-tutorials, which will teach you how to hand-weave on a frame loom using everyday materials and tools easy to find at home.

The aim of the video-tutorials is to show you all the basics of how to weave on a frame loom (with a rotate rigid heddle bar) or on a DIY one, with tools and materials that you can easily find at home, by re-purposing objects and upcycling your old clothes and household textiles.

By following the instructions of each video you will learn foundational weaving skills, such as warping, loom set up, colour blending and structure, and basic weaving techniques and patterns in order to develop your own distinctive voice as a weaver and create your own textile masterpieces.

You can make a small wall hanging, pieces for a patchwork, a clutch bag or an abstract artwork, and plenty more. Let your imagination run wild!

Weaving Makes Us Feel Good

At a time when many of us might feel overwhelmed, stressed and even scared, weaving can be our creative antidote.

It is proven that crafts such as weaving, focusing on repetitive actions and a skill level that can always be improved upon, allows us to enter a "flow" state, a perfect immersive state of balance between skill and challenge.
