The workshop is a 5-hour class designed to give to students a thorough and intensive grounding in hand-weaving. You will learn foundational weaving skills, such as warping, loom set up, colour blending and structure, and basic weaving techniques and patterns. The aim of the class is to not only cover a wide range of styles but also encourage the student to develop his/her own distinctive voice as a weaver. You can make a small wall hanging, pieces for a patchwork, a clutch bag or an abstract artwork, and plenty more. Let your imagination run wild!

A small wooden frame loom, weaving tools and instructions booklet will be provided in a recycled-cotton pouch to take home. Materials and yarns will be also provided, but do bring your own textiles/clothes to recycle - tablecloths, bed sheets, pillowcases, and T-shirts.

Plus tea and snacks on the house!

Anyone who has attended the workshop before is welcome to come with her/his own weaving kit to explore some more weaving techniques and tips. Please choose ‘EX-STUDENT’ .

* The complete Weaving Kit is also available to buy in SHOP.

BECAUSE  CRAFT MAKES US FEEL GOOD :)

At a time when most of us feel overwhelmed by the 24/7 demands of the digital world, craft practices, are being looked to as something of an antidote to the stresses and pressures of modern living. Crafts such as weaving, focusing on repetitive actions and a skill level that can always be improved upon. This allows us to enter a "flow" state, a perfect immersive state of balance between skill and challenge.
